- No matter how long you've been blogging, there's always room to grow
- There are no rules to blogging - if you think it'll work for you, chances are it will!
- Blogging is unpredictable. Sometimes the posts you don't think will do your best, do better than any others.
- Go with the flow and do what feels right
- Every blogger has different things that work for them, something that works for someone else may not work for you and vice versa
- The majority of topics have been talked about before by many people but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't write about it if it pertains to you, too. Put your own spin on it, make it better than ever!
- Don't let others' successes turn into discouragement for you. This success will happen for you in time just as it did for them! (something I need to tell myself more)
- Blogging takes time. Just because you aren't seeing numbers or opportunities right away doesn't by any means mean that you won't ever see this success
- All bloggers can have the success they hope to. No matter what your goal is for your blog, you can reach it with patience and perseverance.
- Connect with your readers - the connections you make while blogging make it all worth while!
- Don't compare yourself to any other blogger no matter who they are, how long they've been blogging or what they're blogging about. Your blog is your blog and it reflects you - the most important thing it could do!
- Be honest with your readers! As a blogger and a blog reader, its easy to tell when a blogger is genuine or not. Your posts should reflect your opinions and what you truly believe in
- Waiting for a post to go "viral" is like watching paint dry. When you least expect it, it'll happen
- As a blogger, you'll only grow. In so many ways. More than you can imagine!
- Blogging should be fun!! If you're stressed, figure out the reason and try to fix it - you started your blog because it's something you love and you have something to share with the world. Enjoy it!

I found this very interesting to read. Alot of bloggers forget all of these things. I know I do. Great post!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Things I remind myself quite a bit!

ReplyDeleteIt's a funny thing how we bloggers could do this all day but other's don't understand why we are doing it if it's not making money straight away. I started a couple of months ago as a hobby and really love sharing what I have created, it's my other baby.
ReplyDeleteThis post is such a nice reminder, thank you.

That is so true! No one is going to want to pay you if you aren't thoroughly enjoying the process : )
DeleteA gentle reminder to what we should be actually doing as bloggers. Very nicely explained.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your thoughts.

Exactly! Thank you so much xo
DeleteLove this - all your points are so spot-on. I wrote about this recently, but so many bloggers out there seem to be focused on the wrong things. Just do what you love to do and write what you want to write and everything will fall into place. For me, I love to write (always have) and continuously work on my craft to get better and BE better. I don't care about stats and all that nonsense. Great post!
ReplyDeleteThat's such an important point of it all! Focusing nonstop on stats, etc will only lead to content that isn't genuine - which is so crucial for bloggers!
DeleteThis is all so true. These things are so simple, but yet we tend to get so caught up in everything else that we forget. Thanks for the reminder!

I'm glad you liked this! They're easy to forget but important to remember : )
DeleteI also stopped looking at my stats because I'm going to keep blogging regardless. It's what I love to do! I do wish I could get more comments on my blog though.

I recommend joining some facebook groups! They're super helpful in that area and help you to meet new bloggers too : )
DeleteI really enjoyed reading this blog post and alot of it true for me I may not have a lot of followers but i am going to keep doing it to keep reviewing items and talking about the things in life that I want to thanks
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that! Everything begins to fall into place when you least expect it - which is the best part : )
DeleteThis post keeps me inspired. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad!! xo
DeleteGreat post. It's easy to get caught up in all that (and I do get caught up all the time). Thanks for the reminder!

I do too and have to bring myself back to earth lol! : )
DeleteThank you very much! I really needed this right now.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you enjoyed it!!
DeleteYou hit all these points right on the head, thanks for sharing! There definitely is lots of room to grow, I feel like even after these couple years blogging, I still have so much to learn.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It doesn't ever end, that's my absolute favorite part : )
DeleteThanks for the tips and reminders. I am definitely always reminding myself that blogging is suppose to be fun! And not to compare =)
ReplyDeleteIt is! It should always be what you look forward to in my opinion : )
DeleteBe true. no rules. All good with bloggers. I agree with it all.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! No rules - exactly!
DeleteI like knowing that I have room to grow! thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou do and always will - trust me! : )
DeleteCompletely agree, we all blog differently. Love your blog.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much - that means a lot!! xoxo
DeleteYes, I have to keep that in mind for "viral" content. Most things happen when you least expect them to!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! And on the posts you least expect - it's crazy! But so worth the wait and effort!
DeleteThese are great reminders. My blog is not very big and I catch my self thinking a lot of those that I need to remember. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! : ) it gets overwhelming but remembering why you started helps bring you back down to earth for sure!
DeleteI'd add promotion goes beyond just the day you publish. I regularly update and republish to my homepage older posts. New readers come onboard every day. They probably haven't seen all of your good stuff!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a good one!!! I like to go through my posts and repin images from older posts as well! Thank you for adding that - that's super important!!
DeleteDon't compare your firsts to someone elses "I've been doing this for years" :) Loved this!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! That's SO very important! : ) hard to do, but worth it to remember!
DeleteYou made some excellent points! I love "Don't let others' successes turn into discouragement for you. This success will happen for you in time just as it did for them!" because I used to look at other bloggers getting sponsored posts and get to discouraged. Then I started looking at it as: "if they can do it, I can too!" and with that mind set, I was able to get some great opportunities!
ReplyDeletexo, Chelsie @ Life with Rosie
That is 100% true! I couldn't agree more! I still do the same sometimes, especially with bloggers that get the opportunities to work with brands I love! I try and tell myself that it'll happen sooner or later!! xo
DeleteI am always one for comparing myself to others! I've only been blogging for about 6 months now so I'm aware that my blog isn't amazing but I aspire to believe that it will be one day! But I defiantly need to stop comparing myself to already established bloggers and concentrate on my own!!x
ReplyDeletewww.kalablondiexo.blogspot.co.uk
I just took a peek at your blog - it IS amazing! I love it! In time you'll be a blogger who someone else looks up to like that! I'm less than a year in as well and have learned so much!
DeleteI need this post too much.I haven't done too many of them and I'm still trying to find time to renovate my site.
ReplyDeleteIf you need any advice or anything, please don't hesitate to ask! Good luck and thank you!!
DeleteAll such excellent reminders. I need a male with a real sexy voice to whisper this list in my ear every so often. Learning stuff every day and it can be so discouraging, because you figure out how to do one thing and then find out - oops maybe that wasn't such a good idea. Ah well. Don't be so hard on myself . . . Thanks for the post!
ReplyDeleteHAHAH! I love this comment! Don't we all lmao! So glad you liked it!!
DeleteThank you for this.....I found it very encouraging. I needed to hear some of this advice today! :) x
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad!! All super important for all of us! xo
DeleteI love this!! Especially your point about there being no rules to blogging... So many people think you 'HAVE' to do a certain thing.. but you don't! I just do my own thing, and its been awesome so far :)
ReplyDeleteRight?! One thing isn't going to work for everyone which is what a lot of people fail to realize!
DeleteI love this! I have also had to learn about this along the way. It is so refreshing to see that I am not the only blogger who struggles with these same issues. And I love my blog because it is a reflection of MOI! It allows me to have a creative outlet and express my views. :) XO and Stay FAB!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more - SO glad I'm not the only one!! Having a place to express yourself and share what you love and what you have to offer with the world is such an amazing feeling! xoxo!
DeleteThis is so true! I have only been blogging for a few months and this was great to read. www.littlemissfangirly.com
