Every year my favorite dessert to make for the holidays are Magic Cookie Bars. While this time of year is so exciting for SO many reasons, the magic cookie bars may take the cake (pun intended) for what I get most excited for! Food wise anyway, ha! I could make these every day and eat an entire tray every. single. day. There is no better dessert and I would make them all year round but they probably wouldn't taste as good (as my mom says)! ;)
My mom has made these during the holidays for as long as I can remember and I always loved to help make them when I was little, so now they're something I make probably 5 or 6 times throughout the next two months. For real, it's an obsession...
There's a ton of small variations to this recipe depending on toppings you like - but the classic chocolate chips, coconut and walnuts are my favorite. Sidenote: did anyone ever realize just how good condensed milk is??? It's my favorite!
What you'll need:
- Graham Cracker Crumbs
- Condensed Milk
- Butter
- Toppings; chocolate chips, walnuts and coconut flakes
Scroll down for a full, printable recipe!
Mix the butter and graham cracker crumbs in a bowl until completely mixed
Pour the graham cracker mixture into the glass pan and spread it around; flattening it into the pan
Add a can of Eagle Brand condensed milk on top of the graham cracker crust mix and spread it around
Now the BEST part, the toppings!! Like I said, you could change this up based on your liking. I've seen this made with different types of nuts, M&M's, etc. but my favorite will always be chocolate chips, coconut and walnuts. Equal parts coconut and walnuts and double the chocolate chips, duh : )
You can use as much of each topping you'd like and spread it around atop of the condensed milk
Bake for 25 minutes at 325 degrees (for a glass baking dish, otherwise 350 degrees)
I could honestly eat this whole tray right now! I highly recommend making these for the holidays - again and again, all season long. If you've never tried these, trust me when I tell you they are life changing lol! They also make the entire house smell absolutely amazing. These magic cookie bars are super easy and fun to make too!
