1. Don't over do it. I know all too well how easy it can be to try and cram everything on your to-do list into one day or one short period of time. It's so satisfying getting everything crossed off your list, but I know I'm not the only one who constantly is overloading themselves! I tend to make one big to-do list, and then I'll break it down into the order of importance and sometimes into two or three days worth of tasks. It's so easy to get overwhelmed and completely stress yourself out with one long list, so making sure you don't over do it is so important and a great way to relieve stress. When I'm feeling overwhelmed, I'll open up my planner and look at my list and figure out what can be moved around; I always feel better when I realize that I can move things around to not completely overwhelm myself in one short time period!
2. Treat yo'self! Whether it's shopping, going for a jog or to the gym, getting a mani/pedi or anything else that you truly enjoy doing - do it often. Don't feel like you shouldn't or can't, it's for REAL so necessary! Most especially on a day that you're feeling stressed to the max, doing something you love that also relaxes you makes such a difference in what WAS a stress filled day.
It's no secret that I love to shop (probably a little too much ;) so when I feel overwhelmed and can take a break from whatever is on my list, I'll take a trip to the mall or Target (I mean nothing like spending an unnecessary $200 at Target to make you feel better, right?! Ha!) or go get my nails and toes done. I love to shop, but I really love a good pedicure!
3. Have a great skincare routine. So let's talk skincare. I have a routine for every morning and every evening, and I try to do a face mask twice a week. If there's one thing I'm good at, it's having and maintaining a great skincare routine that works for me and my skin! Whenever I'm seriously stressing I love a good face mask to relax me. But sometimes, stress wins and nothing is worse than a stress pimple. I've always been so fortunate to have clear skin (thank you genetics!) but like everyone else in the world, I get the occasional annoying pimple. That's where my new favorite addition to my skincare routine comes in, and that's ZAPZYT.
ZAPZYT has the best products when it comes to stress breakouts *and* helping to prevent stress breakouts! They have four products you can use to help prevent and treat the problem zit:
ZAPZYT Pore Clearing Scrub: this is one of the best face scrubs I've ever used! Whenever I feel a mini breakout coming on or whenever I'm feeling extra stressed, I wash my face with this and it most *definitely* helps. This scrub is made with wax microbes, which are meant to help clean your pores out from anything clogging them. I love the scent and it makes your face feel super fresh and clean which is the best part! I've started to use it beyond when I'm feeling stressed also to keep my face bright and clear.
ZAPZYT Acne Wash: one of the best face washes - it has salicylic acid and is mixed with soothing aloe and chamomile; oh and it's hypoallergenic! It's perfect for sensitive skin and it even has helped to reduce winter redness in my cheeks. It's so calming for your face (that's the chamomile!) and it's great for opening up and clearing your pores.
ZAPZYT Pore Treatment Gel: I use this after washing my face with the ZAPZYT scrub/wash WHEN I feel a blemish coming on. It's great to help reduce the swelling and/or redness, and it's really meant to be directly placed on a blemish since it has linoleic acid in it, which is meant to dry out the area it's put on. I put it on as needed one or two times a day and it makes a huge difference in a matter of a day!
ZAPZYT Spot Treatment Gel: this has quickly become one of my absolute favorite skincare products; one I travel with, take everywhere with me and most definitely consider a party of my every day beauty must haves! This spot treatment is *the* quick fix for a problem zit and it really can help reduce the appearance of a blemish in a matter of hours. I love the other three products, but this one if my favorite: I put it on any place I feel a blemish coming on (even before it's actually visible!) and it helps clear it up so quickly! The main ingredient is benzoyl peroxide which helps fight acne at the first signs of it and it's still perfectly safe for the most sensitive of skin. It's visibly clear and scent free - unlike other treatment gels out there - and it works so incredibly well. When I stress out, at least I don't have to worry as much about my skin because I have awesome, holy grail skin products like this one to help get me through!
4. Make lists of positive happenings. Having a list of things you're excited about/looking forward to and the positive things in your life really can put everything into perspective. I have a journal that I write random thoughts down in and this is always where I go when I just need to relax, disconnect for a hot second and how I attempt to reclaim control on a super stressful day. I'll make a list of things I'm excited for, positive things that have happened and just reflect and it really helps calm me down and relax my mind!
Not over-doing it is big. I know I tend to do way too much way too often. I need to delegate more!
ReplyDeleteI love the tip on making a list of positive things when feeling stressed. Having a daily skin care regimen to fight signs of stress is also a great idea.
ReplyDeleteLove your tip on journaling about positive things! I always find myself heading straight to my journal on a bad day - I really think it would help to take a moment to reflect on the good things in life during these entries, though!
