DIY Mother's Day Gift Basket

When it comes time each year to decide on what to get your mom or another important woman in your life for Mother's Day, gifts may seem repetitive or have you feeling like you get her the same thing year after year. I know I've been there! My mom will deny it, but she's actually very hard to shop for, hah! I think I just have this idea that I always want to get my mom the very best so I'm always looking for new ideas. A couple of years ago I started putting together themed gift baskets and I'd switch up the theme each year to include all sorts of fun things I know she'll love. This year I'm putting together a basket centered around the JaM Cellars Butter Chardonnay; a wine so good you'll want a bottle for yourself too! ;)

When I put together this year's Mother's Day Basket, I worked around the JaM Cellars Butter Chardonnay and what I thought went well with it. This is a "glam" basket with all of the pampering essentials any mom needs to treat herself! A great bottle of wine, "Best Mom Ever" stemless glass, a gift card, feminine perfume, a pretty nail polish and fresh scented candle.

Some simple, helpful tips for putting together your own Mother's Day basket:

1. Pick little things you know your mom loves; the more personalized, the better!

2. Stick to a theme to make it easier to know what to buy and include.

3. Get creative with what you place the gifts in - make it something that can be used again so it's like a double-gift! If you're putting together a baking lover's basket, put everything in a bundt pan, for example. The Mother's Day basket I put together this year is a wine basket, so it'll be great for my mom to store wine bottles in in the kitchen!

4. Get creative with the filling to make it look more like a "wrapped" gift; I used shredded paper to keep everything in its place in this basket, but I've also used things like tissue paper or a beach blanket for a sea-themed basket.

I had never tried the JaM Cellars wine before and now I'm hooked! I'm a white wine girl (got it from my mama!) so I figured I'd like this one but I soo wasn't expecting the delicious, bold and buttery taste. I mean who doesn't love butter?! ;) This chardonnay definitely melts in your mouth and is the perfect summer white to have on hand AND to gift, especially this Mother's Day!
