15 Fun & Practical Photo Prop Ideas

If you're a blogger, vlogger or love taking pictures, then you know the importance of having pretty, bright and attractive photos. It's easy to find fun little things you can add to lifestyle shots, but they aren't always practical items or things you have use for. It's great to have things like these around but it's always ideal to be using things you already love, have and use on a daily basis. 1. Navy Accent Pouf: I've been eyeing this pouf for soo long now. It comes in so many colors and is available at so many stores, but there's something about this beautiful navy! It's on sale right now so if you're looking for something new for your home, consider this! It's great for extra seating, to put your feet up on, or my personal favorite idea - in the middle of your closet! Perfect to sit on while trying shoes on. ;) It adds texture to photos and is a really pretty, different background if you need something new.

2. Heart Eyes Mug: I LIVE for these cute mugs! They're the most perfect, $10 gift. This one is my favorite and whether you gift it or keep it for yourself, it's a great deal! They're cute to drink out of, obviously, and also look super cute in photos! They'd all be great for holding flowers and other small things for pictures.

3. 'The Little Dictionary of Fashion' Coffee Table Book: can you ever have too many coffee table books?? I don't think you can, so add this one to your ever growing collection! It's the cutest and one of the prettiest for sure. You can never go wrong with adding a book or two to a photo!

4. Elephant Shaped Match Strike: this is nothing more than a cute little decor piece that looks really cute in photos. ;)

5. Gold Scissors: they're just prettier than your average pair of scissors! ;) Super useful (and cut really well if you were wondering!) and look really good in pictures if you have the right setting going on!

6. Blue Light Glasses: these are an essential if you work long hours on the computer! They're made to block out the blue light that our electronics' screens give off and if you've ever suffered from headaches, I highly recommend trying these. They've helped me so much even on days where I have long hours staring at the screen! They're really pretty too which is a bonus. ;) I love the idea of having these in a ton of different product/lifestyle shots for blog posts and even flatlays!

7. Light Pink Shag Pillow: this is the comfiest, softest pillow EVER. It comes in three colors and it's on sale! It's seriously so cozy - I take it with me when I watch TV in the living room at night because I love it so much. I've used it for the background of one of my shoe photos recently - check it out in this post. Everyone needs one!

8. Gray & White Printed Area Rug: if you're looking for a new area rug of any kind, go straight to Wayfair. Seriously - they have the most beautiful rugs and there's almost always a sale going on, on already really well priced pieces. The quality is great too and there's no better background to add some texture and color to a photo than a printed rug!

9. Gold Catch-All Tray: I have a million 'catch-all' trays and really, it's an excuse to have more little things laying around that you probably don't need... But they can be really useful to hold jewelry and I always love having one on my nightstand. The same goes for using one as a photo prop!

10. Essie Gel Polish: I love adding nail polish into my pictures! I think it looks so pretty and it's hands down one of the simplest ways to add color to a picture. The Essie Gel Couture line is worth trying too - it looks beautiful on and lasts much longer than you'd expect for an at-home mani! The color shown here is 'Fairy Tailor'.

12. NARS Lipstick Set: if I had to pick one of the most useful photo props out there, I would pick anything beauty/makeup related every single time. Lipsticks like these NARS minis add the pop of color that some photos just need sometimes! They're also really beautiful and you'll love using them daily!

Gold Potted Artificial Plant: if you have trouble keeping real plants alive or want a little something extra for your desk, dresser, a side table, etc., this $7.99 artificial plant is for you! $7.99, seriously! I love adding some sort of floral or plant to my pictures and this one looks extremely realistic so it's nice to have whenever you need it, aside from looking really pretty.

14. Gold Beats Earbuds: these are my favorite earbuds ever! The volume control is top notch and they're another everyday item that you can add to your pictures.

15. Wooden Tray: I've actually been looking for a tray like this for a long time and finally found the perfect one! It's meant to carry food on/use in bed, but you can use this for so many things. I'm almost as much of a tray addict as I am a blanket addict! You'll find this useful - as you would any type of similar tray - but also to add something different and new to your pictures.
